One afternoon I stumbled on “Hummus” on University Avenue in Palo Alto as my daughter and I were looking for a bite to eat. We were greeted with a sample platter and presented with slices of apples to celebrate the “New Year”. “Hummus” is a buzzing place during lunch hour. People of all ages sit at the cozily spaced tables. Kids love to rip-dip and eat. Come see what we mean!
“Hummus” was envisioned by Oren Dobronsky, a technologist with 4 successful start-ups under his belt was drawn to the Silicon Valley, the epicenter of today’s technology innovations. Life in the valley was good, but one thing was missing: a big plate of creamy Hummus like back home in Tel Aviv, with fresh Pita & Mediterranean salads. A true entrepreneur, Oren decided to take matters into his own hands. With the help of his wife Nancy, an experienced restaurateur, the couple opened Oren’s Hummus an authentic Israeli restaurant.
He believes food should be fresh, healthy, and tasty! And that is why “Hummus” follows five guiding principles that define their cuisine:
Many of our ingredients are imported from Israel to create the same traditional tastes that will transport you to a genuine hummus restaurant in Tel-Aviv.
Our hummus and pita are prepared fresh numerous times throughout the day.
We use the best natural ingredients and organic produce. Our hummus tastes nothing like the store bought variety because we never use preservatives or substitutes.
We are open every day and serve until late. Our freshly packed food is available for take-out in recyclable containers for your enjoyment at home. We cater small and large events offering pick-up and delivery services.
We believe businesses should take an active part in being environmentally responsible. We recycle anything we possibly can – from oil to paper products. We compost as much organic waste as possible.
