Yes, I do like these Greens! Kale Chips made easy

My 4 y.o. is a big Kale Chips fan, but buying the packaged, prepared greens can get very expensive.

After months of experimenting we came to the conclusion, this one is our favorite recipe:


  • 1 bunch of kale (we like Dino or the curly, red and green Kale)
  • 1-2 Tbsp Avocado Oil  (we prefer this oil as it has a high smoke point)
  • Nutritional Yeast Flakes  (you can get those flakes in most bulk sections for a fraction of the cost of packaged foods)


  • Pluck bite sized pieces off the washed kale leaves (not using the stems)
  • Dab dry with a clean cloth
  • Preheat oven to 400F
  • Toss Kale pieces with Avocado Oil
  • Spread out evenly on 1-2 baking sheets
  • Sprinkle with nutritional yeast flakes
  • Bake for 9 minutes (after 5 minutes check frequently as they burn easily)
  • Let sit for a few minutes to let them dry out and cool down
  • ENJOY!

We love Kale chips too.
Our recipe is a bit different:
We juice the kale and use the left over leaves (“pre-dried” now after the juicing)
We put nutritional yeast and sea salt on the leaves and dry them on a pizza sheet (has little holes in it)in the oven at 112 F. (this way the nutrients will stay in tact longer per “raw foodies”. Luckily we have this setting on our convection oven.
